Privacy Policy

Effective: 3 August 2026Policy version 1.0Package: com.folixa.pdf.scanner

This Privacy Policy explains how Bushra Studio, publishing on Google Play under the developer name The AppFusion (collectively, “we”, “us” or “our”), handles information when you use Folixa: PDF Scanner (the “App”) and the related support pages.

Core privacy principle: Folixa is designed so that document images, PDFs, OCR text, notes and signatures are processed and stored locally whenever the feature does not require an online service. We do not upload your document content to our application server merely because you scan, edit, OCR, merge, split, compress, sign or organize a file.

1. Scope

This policy applies to the Android App, package com.folixa.pdf.scanner, and support communications relating to it. It does not govern third-party apps or websites that you choose to open, share to or purchase through.

2. Who operates Folixa

The App is operated by Bushra Studio, India, and is shown on Google Play under the publisher name The AppFusion. Privacy and support requests may be sent to support@azmisoft.in.

3. Information processed and stored locally

Depending on the features you use, Folixa may access or create the following content on your device:

  • camera captures, imported images, scans and document thumbnails;
  • PDF files and generated outputs such as merged, split, compressed, signed, locked, unlocked, watermarked or page-numbered PDFs;
  • OCR results, document names, tags, favorites, notes, folders and recent-file information;
  • drawn or typed signature images and visual signature placement settings;
  • QR-code content you enter or scan;
  • local notification history; and
  • document-protection settings. PIN verifiers are stored in app-private storage and protected using Android Keystore-based encryption; the App does not store plaintext PINs in public document files.

Files exported to shared storage, including the Documents or Pictures areas, may remain after the App is uninstalled and may be accessible to you, other device users, backup tools or other apps that have appropriate permission. You control whether to share, print, upload or open files in another service.

Android backup or device-transfer services may back up eligible app-private settings when enabled on your device. Folixa’s protected PIN credential file is excluded from its configured Android backup and device-transfer rules.

4. Information collected or received online

4.1 Device, app and installation information

When the App launches or periodically refreshes remote settings, our application server may receive:

  • Android ID/device identifier, app-generated user identifier and push-subscription identifiers;
  • package name, app name, app version, build type and install source;
  • device manufacturer, model, readable device name, Android version, SDK level and whether the environment appears to be an emulator;
  • language/locale, time zone and offset, country derived from the device locale, screen resolution and network type;
  • first-install and last-update timestamps and an app-open count; and
  • premium status, plan name and purchase timestamp. We do not receive your full payment-card details.

The App does not request GPS location permission. Advertising and network providers may independently infer an approximate location from technical information such as an IP address, subject to their policies and your consent choices.

4.2 Analytics and diagnostics

Google Firebase Analytics may process events such as app launches, screen views, promotion views/clicks, notification opens, app version and premium-plan state. Firebase Crashlytics may process crash stack traces, diagnostics, app/device information and installation identifiers to help us find and fix reliability problems. Firebase Remote Config and Firebase Cloud Messaging may process installation identifiers and technical data to deliver configuration and notifications.

4.3 Advertising data

For users who are not currently entitled to premium or ad-free access, Google AdMob and, where enabled through mediation, Meta Audience Network may process advertising identifiers, IP address, approximate location, app interactions, diagnostics, device information and ad-performance data. The exact data depends on device settings, region, consent choices, ad configuration and provider behavior.

4.4 Notifications

If notification services are enabled, Firebase Cloud Messaging and OneSignal may process a push token, OneSignal subscription/player ID, notification permission state, app/package/version tags, country derived from locale, delivery/open information and notification interaction data. Notification messages may be stored locally in the App’s inbox. You can deny or revoke notification permission in Android settings.

4.5 OCR, barcode and document scanning technology

Folixa uses Google ML Kit for text recognition and barcode scanning. Input images and recognition results are processed on-device by ML Kit and are not sent to Google as content. ML Kit may send Google technical metrics such as app/device information, installation identifiers, performance and API-utilization data for diagnostics, maintenance, improvement and abuse prevention.

4.6 Support and feedback

When you contact support through the App or email, we may receive your name, email address, optional mobile number, category, priority, message, device/app diagnostics and any file you deliberately attach. The in-app support flow may submit the request to our backend and may also open your chosen email app so you can send the message. Do not attach sensitive documents unless they are necessary for us to solve the issue.

4.7 Purchases

Google Play processes subscriptions and lifetime purchases. Folixa receives purchase tokens and entitlement information needed to verify, acknowledge, restore and provide premium access. Google—not Bushra Studio—handles your payment method and full billing credentials.

5. How we use information

  • Provide app functionality: process local documents, maintain settings, deliver notifications, restore purchases and provide support.
  • Operate and improve Folixa: understand feature usage, diagnose crashes, maintain compatibility and improve stability.
  • Protect the service: detect abuse, duplicate or invalid requests, fraud, unauthorized purchase use and technical threats.
  • Communicate: respond to support requests and send service, feature or promotional notifications where permitted.
  • Advertising: show and measure ads to non-premium users according to consent and regional requirements.
  • Legal compliance: comply with applicable law, enforce our terms and respond to valid legal requests.

Where applicable, our legal bases may include performing a contract with you, your consent, compliance with legal obligations and our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the App. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, without affecting earlier lawful processing.

6. When information is shared

We do not sell your personal and sensitive data for monetary consideration. We may disclose limited information to:

  • Google: Google Play Billing, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, Cloud Messaging, ML Kit, Google Play services, AdMob and the User Messaging Platform;
  • OneSignal: push-notification delivery, subscription management and engagement measurement;
  • Meta: advertising through Meta Audience Network when that mediation source is enabled;
  • our hosting and Laravel API providers: remote configuration, device/app analytics, promotion delivery, push registration and support submissions;
  • professional advisers and authorities: when reasonably necessary for security, legal claims, compliance or a valid legal process; and
  • a successor organization: as part of a merger, restructuring or transfer, with appropriate safeguards and notice where required.

When you intentionally share, print, email, upload, save to Contacts, open a link or export a file through another app, the destination service receives the information you selected under its own privacy terms.

Third-party privacy information

7. Advertising, consent and privacy choices

Folixa uses Google’s User Messaging Platform where required to request consent and offer privacy choices for advertising. Depending on your region and choices, ads may be personalized, non-personalized or limited. You can revisit available choices from the App’s privacy settings when provided, and you can manage the Android advertising ID in your device settings.

Some U.S. privacy laws may describe certain targeted-advertising disclosures as “sharing.” Where applicable, use the App’s privacy choices or contact us to exercise an opt-out right. Active subscription and lifetime-premium entitlements are designed to prevent the App from loading or showing ads and in-app promotions while the entitlement remains active and verified.

8. Data retention

  • Local content: remains until you delete it, clear app storage, uninstall the App, or remove exported files from shared storage. Exported files may survive uninstall.
  • Backend device and push records: retained only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure and analyze the App, and deleted or de-identified when no longer needed or upon a valid request, subject to legal and fraud-prevention obligations.
  • Support messages and attachments: retained while resolving the request and for a reasonable period afterward for quality, security and legal records.
  • Purchase records: retained as required to verify entitlements, prevent fraud, comply with accounting/legal duties and resolve purchase disputes.
  • Third-party records: retained under the provider’s settings and retention policies.

9. Security

We use HTTPS for our application API, Android runtime permissions, app-private storage, Android Keystore-based protection for PIN verifiers, safe file-sharing mechanisms and access controls appropriate to the data and feature. However, no storage or transmission method is completely secure. Device compromise, insecure backups, user-selected sharing destinations or files exported to public storage may expose content.

Biometric authentication is performed by Android. Folixa receives only the authentication result and does not receive or store your fingerprint or face template.

10. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability or withdrawal of consent. You may also:

  • deny or revoke Camera, Notifications or storage-related access through Android settings;
  • use system file/photo pickers to select only the content you choose;
  • delete scans, PDFs, signatures, notes and notification history inside the App or through a file manager;
  • change advertising privacy choices where the App provides that control;
  • cancel a subscription in Google Play; and
  • request deletion of backend/support records using our Data Deletion page.

We may need reasonable information to verify and locate a request. We will not ask for your PIN, password, full payment-card number or unnecessary identity documents.

11. Children’s privacy

Folixa is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed to children under 13 or the minimum digital-consent age in their country. We do not knowingly request that children submit personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information through support, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

12. International data transfers

Our service providers may process information in India, the United States and other countries. These countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, providers and we use appropriate contractual or legal safeguards.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the App, law or service providers change. The updated policy will show a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated in the App or through another appropriate channel.
